Blender Magazine - R.I.P.
Blender Magazine
1994 - March 26, 2009
Yes, I know this “obituary” has nothing to do with a person, but the fact that Blender Magazine is closing its doors after fifteen years is upsetting (not to mention, laying off thirty people - a sign of the times, I’m sure), because it’s one of my favorite magazines. I guess it was a bit of a shock to those who work there, too, because the April issue with Kelly Clarkson on the cover is going to be its last. So, after yesterday, all we will have of Blender Magazine is memories.
Here’s something I didn’t know - it started out as a CD-ROM magazine. I guess that explains the issues with CDs in them. But mostly, I got it for entertainment and, of course, those “Awesomely Bad” lists that the staff somehow always manages to compile. I don’t remember the first issue of the magazine that I ever bought, but I have bought countless, and at one time, thought about having a subscription to it. Unfortunately, that idea is no more.
Goodbye, Blender.
